Arrival in Newport
Great delivery from Bermuda to Newport. Conditions were looking good for the trip a few days in advance and needed to leave to get ahead on the bad conditions following the perfect flat but windy delivery.
From departure its was TWA 90 conditions in flat seas, wind was due to go more from behind as the trip went on and it did. We had a few hours of motoring through the light wind and rain around the Gulf Stream then into good downwind sailing breeze all the way to newport. We hardly even noticed the Gulf Stream sea state.
Great to arrive with Allegra at the same time in the thick fog at 2am in Newport. We both anchored for the night then grabbed a marina berth the next day.
Nice delivery with a nice bunch onboard. Me and Kat met for the first time and picked up another 2 crew Gary and Steve in the St George customs office which was quite funny. Luckily they turned out to be good guys.
